Support Team Member Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance (M&E) -1st Year (Mechanical Focus)
Under general supervision, the Support Team Member Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance (M&E) is responsible for electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, including execution of planned maintenance programs, performance of unplanned and emergency maintenance activities, and support of plant operations as required. The Support Team Member M&E will perform skilled welding, machinist work, electrical work, instrument and control maintenance duties and other work as assigned.
This position is represented by IBEW Local 1393.
Working Conditions:
This position is in a power plant/industrial environment, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which includes exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust and humidity.
This job requires climbing ladders and stairs, lifting heavy loads up to 100 pounds, entering vessels or equipment with limited access; walking, stooping, lifting, bending squatting, pulling, pushing, working in hard to reach and high places, standing for long periods of time, being exposed to all types of weather conditions, and working around machinery and pinch points.
Must be able to work at heights, from suspended work platforms and in confined spaces.
Perform other work required for emergency response and to prevent accidents/injuries of self and others.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must maintain a valid driver's license
A minimum of three years experience in Industrial Maintenance or Operations
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing air compressors and fluid system operations such as pumps, valves, boilers, etc.
Demonstrated experience and certification in weld repair of structures, piping and boiler tubing
Demonstrated experience working with precision measurement tools, lathes, and mills
Demonstrated experience reading the various types of blueprints used in the power generation industry
Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend, inspect, calculate, count, retain and make safe decisions.
Demonstrated mobile equipment operation
Demonstrated experience with lifting/rigging
