Sr. Training Specialist - Mechanical Maintenance

Position Summary
This position can be located at any FHO facility in the Midwest including Plainfield or the following locations in North Carolina: Tech Training Facility 2 in New Hill, NC or Mount Holly Training Center in Mount Holly, NC
The Sr. Training Specialist will serve as the internal expert for the Mechanical Maintenance technical training program and will serve as project leader for complex training projects. The Senior Training Specialist will be an expert and skilled in the discipline of Mechanical Maintenance to include: Pumps, Valves, Heat Exchangers, Couplings, Hydraulics, Actuators, Turbines, Boilers, Mobile Equipment Operation, Welding, Rigging, and Machining. The Senior Training Specialist will design, develop, and implement Mechanical Maintenance training products and services to achieve company and business unit goals. Additionally, the Senior Training Specialist will provide technical input for project proposal development to effectively plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the activities of project team members to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and in accordance with business needs and customer objectives.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates expertise in a wide range of training products and services which support Business Unit and Team goals.
Serves as an internal expert for Mechanical Maintenance.
Serves as subject matter expert for Mechanical Maintenance initial and continuing qualification programs and emergent Mechanical Maintenance affecting training needs.
Recognizes or is assigned desired employee and organization behavior changes and implements training products and services to achieve prescribed outcomes.
Provides advanced expertise and innovation in the research, design, analysis, and administration of assigned function(s) to support the achievement of business objectives of assigned customer area(s).
Monitors status and progress of projects, and makes necessary adjustments to plans and schedules and executes project close-out.
Makes recommendations and presentations to management and supports the communication and implementation of project deliverables.
Continuously analyzes Mechanical Maintenance Training programs and courses to ensure they meet long-term customer goals.
Remains abreast of current and emerging training practices, trends and methods and ensures their application as appropriate. Attends industry and company-sponsored seminars and conferences; exchanges information with governmental, academic, and training professionals; researches appropriate journals and periodicals.

Office environment with frequent visits to plant locations
Basic/Required Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in the development and delivery of training products and services
5-10 years in industry with experience in operating training and development programs
Knowledge and understanding of Power Generation technologies, practices, and organizations.
Desired Qualifications
Formal training in adult education and/or instructional design for a systematic approach to training.
Oral and written communication and presentation skills to all levels of employees and management.
Demonstrated interpersonal and human relations skills.
Demonstrated expertise in the development and delivery of training products and services in a discipline specific/task based area.
Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process to included Job Task Analysis, Terminal and Enabling objective formulation, Training content design and development, and learner assessment development.
Evaluating Training initiative goal accomplishment (i.e. behavioral change and business results)
IBEW Labor Contracts and HR practices regarding hiring, assessment, placement, and advancement.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze concerns/issues, develop logical conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
Demonstrated project management skills to develop innovative, creative ideas to address complex training-related problems, concerns and programs.
Demonstrated group process skills to effectively facilitate group activities.
Demonstrated leadership abilities to influence and provide direction to team members and to advise management of team members' performance and project status.
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
Demonstrated commitment to upholding standards and consistent application of contract requirements.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
